Evermore

I read Evermore by Alyson Noel. It came out in 2009 and has 275 pages.

This book starts out with Ever (the main character) sitting in class when the new guy Damen enters the room. Ever is immortal and she can hear people’s thoughts and also can read their energy. Even though Damen sits right next to her, she hasn't looked at him but she can hear everyone's thought about him. At the end of the day she finally looks at him and that is because of her friend Miles. The next day, they start to talk. Haven (her other friend) try’s to get him to hang out with them. Haven cancels the hang out session because she is going to a support group. Haven likes to go to any and all groups. She is addicted to the groups. When she is at a group she meets a girl by the name Evaline and then she meets Drina (which is Damen's ex wife). Drina try’s to kill Ever after she kills Evaline and try’s killing Haven. Ever kills Drina, she doesn't mean to kill her but she does. Damen takes Ever to a secret place, Summerland, which only he can take her to. Damen tells Ever the whole story about her past and why Drina was trying to kill her. Ever doesn't like the fat that Damen was the reason that she couldn't be with her parents and her dog (they died in a car crash). After he tells her all the unknown facts, she than learns how to control her thought reading. Evermore continues with Blue Moon.

I loved this book. It not a vampire book which I think made it way better. I thought it was good because it made me think about the people I trust and have in my life. If you like mystery and fantasy books you will love this one.

Go Ask Alice

I read Go Ask Alice by an Anonymous. there are about 200 pages and it came out in 2008.

Go ask alice is a real diary about a 15 year old drug user. The diary goes from when she bought the diary through all her trips and highs with drugs. It doesnt mention her name. During the summer, when Anonymous was 15, she stayed with grandparents. She run into Jill who invites her to a party. Anonymous is served a coke laced with LSD. Over the next few days Bill introducers anonymous to torpedos, speed, and acid. She doesnt know why she is hooked but she hates it. Over the next  few months, she takes sleeping pills, and trangulizers. Anonymous meets Chris, Ted, and Richie and Anonymous run away to San Francisco, where they stay clean until Chris' boss Sheila invites them to a party which pot is being used. After this, they become hooked again. At another party Shiela invites them too, Shiela and Rod gave them herion and raped Chris and Anonymous. They set of to Berkeley and started a store. They decided to go home and stay clean. someone slipped Anonymous pills. Anonymous was high and she ran  off to Denver. The diary is not dated through this period. Anonymous goes home and people start asking her for drugs. While she is babysitting someone sneaks in and leaves peanuts lined with LSD. the nieghbors lack her in the closer to where she tries to find her way out. Anonymous is sent to a mental hospital. a few weeks later, she is out and she decides to stop keeping a diary. 3 weeks later, Anonymous' parents come home to find her dead.  Noone knows if it was accidental overdose or premeditated.

I liked this book because it shows all the details and what this 15 year old went through because she got hooked on drugs. It is sad, she died and it shows how hard drugs can be to get off of when you are introduced to hard core drugs.

Harry Potter

This week I read Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secret. The book came out in 1998 and there are 341 pages.
The main characters are Harry, Hermione, Ron, Dobby, Jenny, and Tom Riddle.
Harry was getting ready to go back to school, when Dobby came to Harry’s house to warn him about the danger.  Harry goes back to the school anyways. When he gets there, everything is fine but in a few months things start to change for the worst. Students start to go to the hospital wing. They couldn’t figure out what was wrong with them or who was putting them in the hospital. When Harry and Ron figured out what was going on, Hermione was already in the hospital. Tom Riddle was trying to kill harry because of the wizard that tried to kill him when he was younger. Tom Riddle had Jenny’s help with putting people into the hospital. Tom was going to hurt Jenny, if Ron and Harry didn’t hurry up and find here. When Ron and Harry finally found the chamber of secrets it was almost too late for Jenny. In the end Harry had got rid of Tom Riddle. After Tom Riddle left, harry was found and he was put in the hospital. After he got better it was about time for summer break.

I liked this book a lot. I think it was a good read. The book didnt teach me any life learning skills but it was a good book to read. I really encourage everyone to read Harry Potter and and The Chamber of Secret

Keeping The Moon by Sarah Dessen

The book Keeping the moon is by Sarah Dessen.
The book is about a 15 year old Nicole "colie" sparks. Colie’s mom, Kiki sparks; aerobics instructor is taking her famous weight loss program to Europe. Colie leaves Charlotte (home town) to live in Colby, N.C. with her Aunt Mira. Colie just lost all of her extra weight but now has a reputation she didn’t earn. Going to Colby, Colie thinks she can forget about her past until Caroline Dawes (enemy) shows up and spreads rumors around about Colie. Colie takes up a waitressing job at the "last chance diner" where she meets fun-loving Morgan, Friendship-impaired Isabel, and "Hippie" artist Norman. Even in Colby there are people like Caroline Dawes and Colie Sparks. Colie learns more about herself from her Aunt Mira, Morgan, Isabel, and Norman. Colie learns to except herself for who she is and stand up for herself.
I liked the book because it’s different from all the rest of Sarah Dessen books. This book shows some of the real situation of teens and cruelty of teens. I like that Colie had friends that helped her in Colby and she shredded is low-self esteem and believed in herself.

Looking for Alaska

The book I read this week was looking for Alaska by John Green.
This book is has two parts, the before part is explaining what’s going happening at the new school and Miles new friends. The after part is about Miles and Chip trying to find out what happened to Alaska.
The main character is Miles (Pudge), Chip Martin (Colonel), Alaska, Takumi, Lara, the Engle which is the dean of students. Miles Halter “Pudge” is tall and skinny and he can remember the last words of famous people. Alaska is wild, self destructive and she captures pudge’s attention. Chip Martin “The Colonel” is Alaska’s best friend and Pudge’s attention. Takumi is Alaska and the Colonel friend, he feels left out of the plans. Lara is Alaska’s friend and Pudges’s short time girlfriend. This book starts out with a goodbye party for Miles. He is leaving for a new school, that he’s dad went to when he was younger. When he gets to the new school, he meets the Colonel, which is he’s new roommate. The Colonel introduces Pudge to Alaska. They do pranks on each other and that’s where the story mainly takes place around. In the after part of the book the Colonel and Pudge try to figure out why alaska had left the school. They had to uncover a mystery about Alaska.

I liked this story a lot. I thought that the book was a life learning lesson. It explains how everyone’s life was different but they were all good friends. I also like it because people hind things and if someone dies then you really don't know why or what happened. If you like mystery books, I think you should read this book. It is good.
