I read Go Ask Alice by an Anonymous. there are about 200 pages and it came out in 2008.
Go ask alice is a real diary about a 15 year old drug user. The diary goes from when she bought the diary through all her trips and highs with drugs. It doesnt mention her name. During the summer, when Anonymous was 15, she stayed with grandparents. She run into Jill who invites her to a party. Anonymous is served a coke laced with LSD. Over the next few days Bill introducers anonymous to torpedos, speed, and acid. She doesnt know why she is hooked but she hates it. Over the next few months, she takes sleeping pills, and trangulizers. Anonymous meets Chris, Ted, and Richie and Anonymous run away to San Francisco, where they stay clean until Chris' boss Sheila invites them to a party which pot is being used. After this, they become hooked again. At another party Shiela invites them too, Shiela and Rod gave them herion and raped Chris and Anonymous. They set of to Berkeley and started a store. They decided to go home and stay clean. someone slipped Anonymous pills. Anonymous was high and she ran off to Denver. The diary is not dated through this period. Anonymous goes home and people start asking her for drugs. While she is babysitting someone sneaks in and leaves peanuts lined with LSD. the nieghbors lack her in the closer to where she tries to find her way out. Anonymous is sent to a mental hospital. a few weeks later, she is out and she decides to stop keeping a diary. 3 weeks later, Anonymous' parents come home to find her dead. Noone knows if it was accidental overdose or premeditated.
I liked this book because it shows all the details and what this 15 year old went through because she got hooked on drugs. It is sad, she died and it shows how hard drugs can be to get off of when you are introduced to hard core drugs.
I read this book last year and it was really sad!
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds so good! I love personal diaries; it makes it so much more interesting. This is very sad.I am suprised that a girl the age of 15 could be involved in so many harsh drugs.
ReplyDeleteThis book sounds really sad, and it tells about a girl at the age of 15 and the things she shouldnt be going through.
ReplyDeleteThis book wasn't actually published in 2008, though; it was originally published in 1971. It's not a true account, either, but it's still a very good book.
