That Summer

I read That Summer by Sarah Dessen. It came out in 2008 and there are 198 pages.
The main character is Haven. She is a teenage girl that is insecure and she keeps growing. Her mother and father had just gone through a divorce. Haven sister, Ashley, is getting married. Her dad is also getting remarried. When her life starts to get worse, she finds a retreat. The retreat is one of her sister’s old boyfriends.  He had made her sister really happy and nice.  With her dad getting remarried and her sister’s old boyfriend coming back, it only makes haven think about the past.  Read to find out what happens to her.
I thought this book was an amazing book. I didn’t think it was very interesting at first but then I go into it. It was one of those books you just can’t put down.

Daddy's Little Girl

I read Daddy's Little Girl by Mary Higgins Clark. This book came out in 2002. The main character were Ellie cavanaugh, Andrea, Rob Westerfield, Paul Stroebel, and Will Nebels.
Ellie was only seven years old. Rob was nineteen and came from a wealthy family. he was secretly dating Andrea. Paul was sixteen and a schoolmate of Andrea. he had a crush on Andrea. Will Nebels was a local handyman.
Andrea was murdered near their home in Oldham-on-the-Hudson, a rural village in New York's Westchester County. There were three suspects: Rob Westerfield, Paul Stroebel, and Will Nebels. The killer (name unknown) spends the next 22 years in prison. When he comes up for parole, Ellie, now an investigative reporter for an Atlanta newspaper, protests his release. The convicted killer is set free and returns to Oldham,  Ellie also returns to Oldham, intent on creating a Website and writing a book that will conclusively prove his guilt.
Ellie uncovers a horrifying unknown fact that was a new light on her sister's murder.  when she was there she came closer to the desperate killer.
I love this book. It was a really good mystery. If you love mystery's, I think you would love this book. The ending is nothing you would expect it to be.

Looking for Alaska

The book I read this week was looking for Alaska by John Green.
This book is has two parts, the before part is explaining what’s going happening at the new school and Miles new friends. The after part is about Miles and Chip trying to find out what happened to Alaska.
The main character is Miles (Pudge), Chip Martin (Colonel), Alaska, Takumi, Lara, the Engle which is the dean of students. Miles Halter “Pudge” is tall and skinny and he can remember the last words of famous people. Alaska is wild, self destructive and she captures pudge’s attention. Chip Martin “The Colonel” is Alaska’s best friend and Pudge’s attention. Takumi is Alaska and the Colonel friend, he feels left out of the plans. Lara is Alaska’s friend and Pudges’s short time girlfriend. This book starts out with a goodbye party for Miles. He is leaving for a new school, that he’s dad went to when he was younger. When he gets to the new school, he meets the Colonel, which is he’s new roommate. The Colonel introduces Pudge to Alaska. They do pranks on each other and that’s where the story mainly takes place around. In the after part of the book the Colonel and Pudge try to figure out why alaska had left the school. They had to uncover a mystery about Alaska.

I liked this story a lot. I thought that the book was a life learning lesson. It explains how everyone’s life was different but they were all good friends. I also like it because people hind things and if someone dies then you really don't know why or what happened. If you like mystery books, I think you should read this book. It is good.
